RAA Istanbul was founded by designer Ecem Kumbasar with a simple idea: a beautiful bag should never be limited to one moment, one place, or one way of wearing it
Having graduated from Pratt Institute in New York with a Bachelor of Indutrial Design, Ecem holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from Middle East Technical University, where she is currently pursuing her PhD. Alongside RAA Istanbul, she teaches Industrial Design at TED University and METU, bringing together design, craftsmanship and a constant curiosity for how objects become part of our lives.

A TOUCH OF SUN
RAA takes its name and inspiration from Ra, the ancient Egyptian Sun God.
Our signature yellow lining and spiral handles are a playful expression of that story — representing the sun, the passage of time, renewal and the endless cycle of life.
